When I lived in Sydney we sometimes went yachting in the harbour. I began photographing patches of water and became intrigued by the variety of shapes lines and colours.

This produced a series of paintings  and, while occasionally I still go back to this theme, if I’d had the dedication of someone like Bridget Riley this could have been the work of a lifetime.
