I was stumbling across a muddy field one day and found this - the ghost of a medieval village with a scrap of a ruined church and a clear indication of the streets and the foundations of forgotten buildings. Apparently the ghost has been preserved because the field has never been ploughed up since the village was abandoned. More on here.
