I've always been fascinated by the colours of distressed metal and rust and have mastered a technique of reproducing the effect with moulded paper and oil pigments without involving any actual metal.
When I moved to Norfolk from London, I was thrilled to discover that there are a great many rusty water towers like this one on Castle Acre. I combined these elements with the vastness of Norfolk skies and this is the result.
